Thanks for checking out my blog. This is my home base to share my experiences, and some cool things I have found online.
My name is David Walp and I teach eighth grade social studies at Moravian Academy Middle School in Bethlehem, PA.
I have been teaching since 2006. I got my start at Easton Area Middle School in the Easton Area SD, Easton PA (my alma-mater!). I had seven great years there as a building substitute –> gifted support/math teacher –> 7th grade social studies. Following that, I taught 8th grade social studies for one year at Penn Central Middle School at the Pennridge SD.
I basically just love teaching and learning. I think #edtech is the way forward, and I am incredibly excited and privileged to finally be teaching in a one-to-one iPad environment. However, I firmly believe that writing is thinking, and students need to pick up a pencil (or a stylus!) and put their thoughts down on paper (or a screen!). Please check out my Masters Thesis on reflective writing strategies. for some of my earlier work.
